If you are a retailer, I am sure someone has something. Let's see it! :-)

Interesting, Doesnt look THAT hard to do :-) Sadly looks like the professional install thru DNSC is the only option for that Superdish...

It would be bad for business if poor self installs ripped the sides off homes and perhaps someone gets hurt. That sucker is huge sure to bring down a chimney too. Like putting a sail on the side oif your house.

I support the rule. Its for everyyones protection.

Maybe you should move to a country ruled under a dictatorship!

Dictator your ass! I have been to a house where the dish was swinging in through the living room picture window. And yup they had kids that may have been killed. The installer did have 6 lags in the thing but didn't predrill the holes so when the wind blew hard the lags split the old oak boards under the shingles and down swung the dish from 4 wires right through the window. Yup, the installer was the customer. So much for self installs.

Ah I KNOW I COULD INSTALL ONE PROPERLY, but how many half hearted installs have you seen. Missed the stud? Oh well its in the sheathing:(

Theres a gazillion ways to do it WRONG, and right has to be perfect when its a 3 foot dish...

Sinnce DNSC just did a dishmover for a buddy of mine I have doubts about them too. They installed the grounding blocks in the basement:(

Ahh the trained comnpany installers!

That sucker is huge sure to bring down a chimney too.I've been thinking about this ... although I'm currently feeding my HD habit with Comcast, I'm still open to returning to E* for HD (no HD PPV on Comcast, no Discovery, no CBS-HD), but the SuperDish is a problem for me.

I currently have a D300 and D500 on my chimney, and I'm already concerned, because that's a very bad solution, but it's literally the only line-of-sight on my property. Perhaps a single SuperDish wouldn't be any worse than the existing dishes, but I'm thinking it would be (worse), because two dishes at different angles probably don't catch wind as strongly. Anyone have any thoughts on this?

If I decide to install the dish myself, do you know if I can just remove my Dish 500 from the mast, and replace it with the new SuperDish? Or do I have to replace the Mast also?

Thanks,

You need to replace the mast also since they are different size pipes.
