Hey, I looked ahead in the guide and saw 7pm shows showing up at 8pm after the time shift. Do we time for the show or for the time?

Time for the show. The adjustment will be made at 2:00 a.m. EDT (1:00 a.m
EST) Sunday. This comes up every year and every year (so far) the adjustment
has been made and Sunday shows record properly.

As a general rule, I do not set any new timers until after the time shift (wait until Sun morning). Pre-existing timers, for the most part, seem to fire correctly. But I have had significant problems with timers set up when the time adjusted guide was active.

Once you create a timer aren't only the start and end times saved?

So, if you create an event for next week (based on the guide) t'll have the wrong start end times.

My weekly events look like they are an hour off next week. But, actually, they should be fine once the extra hour gets jammed into the guide.

You'd think Dish could do better. My DVDR using Guide+ simply lists the 1 am hour twice on Sunday morning. All times for next week are correct.

It's ridiculous that they still can't handle DST better. It's not like it's a surprise - the time changes twice a year.

My excellent DVRs have had no problems handling the semi-annual time changes - for over 3 years now.

Well, as if I needed another reason to leave Dish...

I just got home from New Jersey and, sure enough, my Dishplayer did NOT handle the EDT/EST switch - now, for example, it wants to record Smallville at 7pm.

YOU HAVE HAD OVER THREE YEARS TO GET THIS RIGHT, DISH!!!

When the DirecTV / HDTiVo unit hits the streets, I am *gone*. I used to be a BIG E* cheerleader...

Well, as if I needed another reason to leave Dish...
