I just got my 510 installed about 2 hrs ago and the browse banner will only go up to the next program, and then it will stop. Just wondering if this is normal, but i thought it was supposed to go as far as the guide would let it.

That's been the behavior for E* recievers since I signed up 5+ years ago (with a 4000 and Dish 300).

The guide lets you go forward more than one show but the browse doesn't. This is because on all of the recievers except the DVRs they cache the current listing for every channel, but not too far into the future.

It probably should on the 5xx's since they don't need to go to a different transponder to d/l more listings, but maybe it's for consistancy's sake.

Another question.

Why do the FSN and Local channels hace No Info available after like 1 hr from the show that is on now.

And this i doubt you can answer. When i hit mute, the weird thing comes on the screen and it wont go off until i turn the tv off manually. I think its a frequency thing. Any Ideas, but to mute all i really have to do is pause it anyway.

Thanks ALOT

This situation occurs on my Sylvania-branded sets (data is placed on the 4 corners of the screen). I suspect those sets have a built-in diagnostic capability of some sort that is activated by an infrared signal that isn't on their normal remote, but is used by maintenance people. If that's the case, the same code may have been used by the E* remote for mute and the code to cancel it isn't. I also have to turn mine off manually to clear the situation.

Great thanks. The guide is working fine now, but i was also wondering is there a way in the guide to go from like today to wednesday in like one click so you dont have to scroll thru it all

#1 The Browse Banner is designed to just show the next program comming on that channel if you want to look further into the future you use Guide.
#2 When you are in the Guide pressing the 30 second skip button will jump you ahead 1 day. You can also punch in 24 then push the Browse Button and you will jump ahead 24 hours. This trick works with however many hours you punch in.

THX boba. I appreciate that. I'll just have to get used to that for the browse button. Im used to my digi cable and being able to go as far as the guide would, but after this picture on Dish Cable NEVER AGAIN, except the cable modem
