:welcome_s Hi Nitetime, welcome to DBSTalk kick your shoes off, relax and enjoy your stay!
Currently DirecTV (or D* as it's called message boards for shorthand) has their HD channels spread across the 110 and 119 locations. HD Net and HBO HD are on the 119 location and ESPN HD, Discovery HD Theater, HD Net Movies and Showtime HD are on the 110 location. A 18x20” Phase 3 oval dish or the 18x24” elliptical dish w/ a sat c kit will allow you to see all three D* locations. The Phase 3 is a newer dish and combines all three LNBs into one housing and allows you to hook up to four tuners up with out the need of a multiswitch.
For a full channel line up divided by satellite check out Lyngsat.

I think I've heard that the RCA DTC-100 might need to get a firmware upgrade to support the multi-satelite reception.

I have a DTC-100. It works with all three satellites as is. Not sure what firmware it has...but it had been in a closet for 4 months. There is a sub-tab in the setup menu for 2 or 3 LNB oval dish.
