With the other thread, which seems to have a lot of people fairly negative on the L1.15 software load on the 721 - reporting all sorts of bugs. I was wondering, is anyone out there happy with the load and has it working fairly stable/clean - besides myself? I really haven't experienced the lost recordings, DVR glitches, ... others have reported. I don't know if there is something special in hardware that might cause a software glitch with one 721 and not another 721.

Anyway, here's a thread which asks the question " Is there anyone who is happier with L1.15 over the previous load and really have not encountered major bugs?"

Personally, I've not had the major problems reported elsewhere - and the biggest glitch I've seen happened with the older S/W load as well. The weather feature make is well worthwhile for me, although I wish there was a setup command which could get it to update a bit more often. But what say you....

the only problem that that I found directly related to L115 update is the pause/slow jumping to the begining of a recording if you press them in certain order. (this is a minor annoyance and easily avoided)

I have had the defective tuner and had to have a new 721
(which Dish replaced free)

The only real complaint I have (now) is the inability of the 721 to properly recognize 61.5/110/119 in the "two SW21/Twin" configuration, this however happened with L112 and is still uncorrected with L115.

You only discover this if you do a switch check with the configuration I mentioned.

The only new bug I have is the one where the day changes when you modify an existing timer. Otherwise I'm very happy with 115, especially since it fixed my biggest peeve - the incorrect show name displaying when you padded more than 1 minute at the start.

I really like the new "Timer Conflict" screen, it makes is very easy to see the problem :)

I have had very few and minor problems with the old or the new.

After reviewing the new software upgrade (1.15) I am curious why there was no change to two specific issues that have always bugged me. One, once a recorded show has been viewed, the default button is still "Start Over" as opposed to "Resume". If you press "Start Over" then you will lose your place, but if the default was "Resume" (when previously viewed) then the worst case would be that you would stop and then start over.

Second, the pvr listings for "Sort by Name" never "stick". Why can't I select "Sort by Name" and have it stay selected the next time I enter the pvr listings? Seems like minor software changes to make this happen. The weather stuff has a "wow" factor, but I would rather have changes to stuff I use multiple times a day rather than once in a while.

I totally agree about the weather. I would've much rather had them spend their time doing other things.

I have mixed emotions about the new version. I system has not crashed since the update :) I hate the 29min extra time max for recording :( Also I am having a problem that I have not seen posted yet. In stead of using previous channel, I pop up a pip window and watch some thing. When the main show comes on, I close the pip. On the old version, if I reopened the pip, it would be to the channel I set in the pip. Now if I reopen the pip I get the channel from the main window. If I go to the pip window and hit previous channel, then it goes to some other channel :nono:
Now I have to change my habits.

The Good......

Weather, Triple Conflict Timer, Corrected Info on Expanded Recordings (Nice to see ER again on the list instead of Good Morning Miami), Superdish compatibility.

The Bad....

Banished temperature setting, FF/REW glitches, Midnight Timers acting up with double recordings (records two nights in a row for some reason).

The Ugly.....

A few people have experienced timers that don't turn off (I haven't seen it myself), still no Internet or Wireless Keyboard (and probably never will be), no interactive TV other than weather (C'Mon guys, this is your current FLAGSHIP receiver), and no screen saver (still deactivated for some reason).

I was very happy with the older version. But with software version 1.15, 2 of my favorite features "back 10 seconds" and "forward 30 seconds" are constantly freezing. This is a real PITA!

They don't freeze on me at all, but the "back 10 seconds" seems like it only goes back about 5 seconds now.
