Will Dish Network buy Directv????

After ready all the Press Releases, it looks like Dish Network may be in the lead. What do you all think about that?

If they do get a deal with GM to by DTV. It will be the time to start writing letters and emails to the FCC.


I really dont think this is a good deal for the consumer.

I don't think the GM wants to get stuck in anti-trust issues that won't go anyway either.

IMHO, DirecTV will come off the block and will be put out there again when the ecomomy improves...with Rupe waiting in the wings.

I think that a merger would be AWESOME for consumers in every way that I can think of. I think that their focus would definitely be on getting new customers, but receivers would be standardized, and E* customers would get better hardware while D* customers get better security things. The amount of programming that would be available would be awesome. Antitrust issues? LOL. Charlie is WAY ahead of Rupert Murdoch on this one. "How!?" you say? Well, take a look at ALL that he already owns in the television industry. Heck. Charlie seems like a MUCH easier candidate to pass those issues than News Corp. HECK. They just completed YET another purchase.
