I need to uninstall it but the uninstaller breaks down. Any thoughts on doing it manually?

Ger, I had the same problem when I switched to NAV 2003 Pro. I suggest that you e-mail McAfee and they will send you a long list of things you must do. As I remember it includes some RegEdits (be careful with this to do just what they say).
I have never been happier than after I LEFT McAfee.

Perhaps I was not clear. I tried the windows uninstaller and it crashes that was the reason for my post. I have also emailed MCAfee and have gotten no response except offeres to purchase additional MCAfee products. If anyone has these instructions could you forward them to me at my address of record.
Interestingly I have tried deleting the MCAfee related registy keys using a popular sytem optimizer butt hey always reappear and MCAfee Update keeps creeping back into my startup.

Ger, why don't you try re-installing the McAfee program over what's left of the original, then try the McAfee uninstall program?
This has worked for me in other situations where the program was damaged.

McAfee will not allow you to do that. The installer quits when it finds evidence of an installed version. In addition this situation prevented me from installing NAV which wont install with McAfee present. . I am currently using the free Grisoft Anti Virus program.
