I had talked with great enthusiam about the upcoming 522. She wants to know if Direct has anything simnilar coming? She is waffling and weaving wether to get 2 or 3 tivos.

You will probably be able to get 2, 3, or 4 DirectTivos for less then the price of 1- 522. I got 2 for $49.00 EA. plus $200.00 in rebates. The additional channels (TRIO, Oxygen) and Total Choice + with locals is a great package.

The Dish PVR fee, per receiver, makes the 522 less attractive then it could have been.

Jen was interested in minimizing the mirror fees. It ure does appear D will be less expennsive equiptement wise. That makes the mirror $ less of a issue.

Yeah I know but I promoted buying a 522 for over the last year, based on its features. Its how I get Jen to go along with upgrades. Had no idea my 721 would bug out so bad, the 522 would be digital home plan only.

Her wanting a dual output box with no mirror fee is a lefover of my sales approach:( for WIF.

I think given the rave reviews of D Tivo she will forget about the 522.

I am still curious if and when D has a similar box planned. The 522 is surely a competive stepping stone and is the future of dbs.
