View Full Version : Wow! What a difference a mouse makes.

My job requires me to do a lot of computer work especially with the mouse (dragging, dropping etc.). Over this past year I have noticed the beginnings of Carpal Tunnel in both wrists (I switch hands when they get sore which is why they are both getting bad).

Someone suggested that I try a trackball mouse. Wow! What a difference. Since the mouse never moves, my wrist isn't strained as much and by the end of the day, my wrists aren't sore at all. I was a little skeptical at first by moving away from a tradition mouse but I have to admit, using a trackball made a big difference.

Anyone else have a similar experience?

From the title I thought this thread was about Mickey Mouse turning 75. LOL!
Seriously...based on what you are saying, I'm going to buy a trackball and give
it a try.

BTW, this is the one I'm using:

It is relatively cheap so is a good way to see if you like trackball technology. It's also optical. There are other more expensive ones on the market but this one seems to work good for me. Also I can use it in either hand. Some of the trackballs only allow right hand usage.

I have that mouse at home. I like it. It is easy to use. I also think my kids have an easier time using it than a regular mouse. I do need a new mouse at work, maybe I'll try to tell them to get me one.

Chris, I have exactly the same mouse at home as well. I use a traditional mouse at church. I really like it. You can really spin that ball and cover a lot of territory fast when you are surfing. :D I also like it when I am playing first person shooters.
