View Full Version : Spare Remote ?

Anyone know where to find a spare remote for the Philips DSR7000 ? I began my search at the Philips website, and they in turn directed me to the Tivo support. Now the Tivo support has told me to go to Directv for support. Does this sound right to anyone? I do not NEED a spare right now, but it would be nice to have one or at least know where to find one.

Most universal or programmable remotes will work with DirecTivo.

The Tivo Store list these remotes also.

I seen that one at the Tivo store, but did not think it was the same as it did not have Directv on it. You would think that the Tivo people would have told me that :yesman:

The URC-6131 universal remote is a good choice. It has TiVo specific buttons and can control 6 devices. Price? About $18.

Any DirecTiVo remote will probably work. I have a Phillips and a Hughes and the remotes are interchangeable, I suspect a RCA and a Samsung would also probably work seeing they are all supposed to be built in the same factory. I can confirm that the instruction book for RCA,Phillips and Hughes are identical except for the covers.

If you can do it, go for the MX-500 universal remote for about $99. It'll eleminate your need for the remote clutter from hell.

If not, the RadioShack jammies do just fine.

Thanks to all that responded to my remote question. I have received the one at the Tivo store https://store.tivo.com/ProductListing.aspx?cid=102 and it works fine...the support @ Tivo really is lacking, as they continued to tell me that they do not sell a remote that is for DirecTivo....they FINALLY agreed after I showed them the product they are selling.... :icon_dumm
