hi guys!

Well I jumped in and had the installer come yesterday. He was very nice and ended up spending about 6 hours at my home doing the 2 receiver install

He had not done a Voom install yet, so I was kind of an experiment. Everything went well. My only question was that the satellite signal strength was 22 on a scale of 0-100. The phone tech support person said that anything over 20 was okay. hmmmmm... within 15 minutes of the installer leaving the signal was dipping around 18 and the picture would be lost.

The HD images I saw were quite good. The interface is nice, being much better than the Dish 6000 and somewhat slower than some of the DTV receivers.

Ill post more when the system is fully functional.

Regards

PS: What are you guys getting for signal strength?

Most Voomers I've seen on the forums are getting around 50, so you might need to adjust your dish.

Since it takes 18/100 to get a locked signal I take it that the more up to date technology being used on the Rainbow satellite allows for a weaker signal to still be able to receive a picture or it has a different scale that is different than Dish or Direct starting out at a lower number for a lock.
Why would it not be possible to get above a 50 like towards the 70's, 80's, or 90's if it has a scale to 100?
