View Full Version : dish HD ??
Hello
I live in santa clara, ca I get dish network resold thru castle cable in our apt. complex. I just got a hdtv setup and would like to get some of these channels thru dish network. Can I just upgrade the box to get the hd channels. The provider has no idea what hdtv is. The recieiver I have now is a echostar 3750. I am hoping to just upgrade the reciver myself and use the existing dish setup provided by castle cable. Do this sound possible..any help world be appreciated.

I think you need to find out which satelites your cable company is pointed at first. Call Dish and see what they have to say. 1-800-333-DISH

I can tell you right now, NO other receiver will work at your complex. The 3750 is what is know as a QAM receiver, which is made to ONLY work though a special headend in your complex where all the satellite signals are brought down & then changed from QPSK (satellite) format to QAM, which enables your operator to send ALL satellite signals (& probably local/off-air as well) down your existing coax throughout your buildling. (of course, a 3750 will NOT work with any of the standard dishes)
The ONLY way you can get an HD receiver, or ANY other model of E* receiver to work at your place, is to put up your OWN dishes - sorry.
