I have two DirecTivos after switching from Dish last month. Last night a 8:00 PM MST. I had 4 programs recording at the same time while also watching a recording. I am amazed how you get used to this and how easy it was to do. Two of them were season passes and 2 were one time recordings that we set up.

I guess I never realized what a benefit 2 tuners is. Dish is really missing the boat here.

I know what you mean. I almost never have to "babysit" my DirecTivos. Last night just for kicks I checked the "To Do" list because I noticed that the Survivor final episode was on Sunday night. Sure enough, the DirecTivo picked up the show on Sunday and set the timer.

Having 4 tuners is definitely a plus. My family is constantly recording shows all throughout the day and between two units, I still haven't run into any timer conflicts.

Chris, the only thing I really miss is the caller ID feature in the Dish receivers (ok well maybe the KTLA morning news).

I am testing out one of these for my caller ID.

It may go back though because the spinning disk inside makes some noise (although not as bad as the 8VSB module fan). :D

Chris,

Don't forget that there is a Survivor Reunion Special right after the 2-hour final episode. The UTV has an Auto-Record that picked it up, but I'm not sure the Tivo's have picked it up. Just a head's up.

Most likely if you have a season pass the Tivo will not pick it up since it's actually it's own show, not part of the series. It's been this way in past years. So you'll need to do a one-shot recording. However, if you use a whishlist instead, it should pick it up no problem.

I went into the season pass manager and put in a 1.5 hour pad on the end of Sunday's Survivor.

You all must be running Series 2 boxes. I have to "babysit" both of mine (DSR6000 and SAT-T60) because occasionally I lose my favorites list and all the channels I receive are checked as yes. It's gotten much worse in occurence lately.

If you have Tivo suggestions turned on, I would think it would record that other Survivor show.

I've been following that thread in the TiVo forum, but I can say that I have not lost my CIR list on either of my T60 or DSR6000 boxes. I can't say about the Favorites, since I don't use it. Both of my boxes have the latest version. I hope I didn't jinx myself by making this post. :D

Thanks for the heads up Karl. The Tivo didn't pick it up so I had to set the timer myself. No biggy though.

That's why I kept my 508 so I can still watch the morning news and time shift other shows on the WB. :) Oh, and also have access to the Charlie Chats. It's kind of hard running the chat room every month without it. ;)

From what I have seen of the Charlie Chats lately, I don't think it would make any difference! :)

I still have my 6000 for the HD package & Charlie Chats. I could have kept the Supers but could not justify the cost just to watch Jennifer York. :)

Same here. Have had my T-60 for going on 3 years and have never had this happen. <cross my fingers>

Sigh.... I have my DirecTiVo hooked up to a UPS. This still doesn't prevent my mom from doing some cleaning. Ignoring the yellow "Do not move label", she picked up my DirecTiVo and managed to unplug it. I missed recording The Handler and The Roaring Twenties, and had to do a call for reauthorization. :(

Does a deactivated E box still get the chat? I thought they did.
