According to that news story, Echostar owns 10% of TechTV which Comcast is negotiating to buy out.

Very interesting... Echostar is, then, not truly, a 100% delivery-only platform.

Echostar also owns one of the largest providers of International programming, and doesn't even cary all their channels (ie "The International Channel")

Echostar doesnt any part of the international channel's content, but just distributes the international channels in America.

The International Channel wont be carried on Dish anytime soon. Its always been targeted for the cable systems, not satellite. Its usually also not sold alacarte on cable. The channel would detract from potential subscriptions of the alacarte international channels.
