501 with newly wiped drive

So my wife asks me the other day if I removed all of the old programming off the 501 as it's completely clean. I certainly didn't, so my question is this, will a HD failure be coming soon?

Time to sign up for the $1.99 warranty? It's over a year + old and seem's to work fine now (and has all along)... Opinions?

If I sign up for the warranty am I signing up for a full year of dish (the 12 month statements). I like Dish, but want a HDTV DVR eventually and want to compare and contrast the 921 vrs a HDTV Tivo before a spend that much $$$.

If you sign up for the $1.99/mo warrenty, you are committing to a year of the warrenty, not a year of programming or anything else.

And yes, if you lost all of your programming, I'd definitely sign up - you have to wait 30 days before you can make a claim on the warrenty.

Thanks for the reply and info. I guess I'll make the warranty call. The price is cheap and it would suck to have to replace it out-of-pocket.
