View Full Version : Help!! I'm missing a third of my channels !
Suddenly after seven months of good viewing I have dropped about a third of my viewing channels. As far a I can tell the alignment has not changed on the dish and both of my receivers work on another dish. Could this be a bad LNB??

It could be. It depends on what channels are missing. A third sounds about right for missing 110 and having 119. (Assuming E* system.)
It could be the LNB, or the switch if you have one inline. It could be a bad connector on the cable going to the LNB. Or it could be snow ...
Take a look at what channels are there and what is missing. Can you see 101? How about 9900? The first is on 119 and the second on 110. Give a few examples of what you have kept, and what you have lost.
You may also wish to do a switch test which will seek out what satellites are connected. Although if you did lose one you will have to retest after getting your signal back.

Ditto for the switch test. This cures most problems.
