Since September I have had Direct TV and can't ever imagine going back to cable, Comcast here in Pittsburgh.
Since install I have gotten anywhere from 85 to 95 (100 on the local spotbeam), but was wondering if the addition of an inline amp would boost the signal, or take it up a bit. If not, how could I increase it some.
Overall, I have lost signal a total of 10 minutes on some of the weaker transponders, but NEVER the locals on that powerful spotbeam.
Thanks to all who reply. Going through these forums is like an education in itself. :)

If your cable length between Dish and receiver is not over 100 ft. or more a line amp. does nothing, sometimes overloads receiver. Sounds like a weak transponder or the dish is not peaked correctly. Hope that helps.

Could be a bad connector. Either the connector was not installed right at the initial installation, or it was installed so that water would penetrate into the connection.

Well pittsburgh has some heavy weather from time to time. In general if rainfade is a issue the best thing you can do is get a bigger dish. A 36 incher will mnimize but not totally elminate rainfade.

What part of town are you in? I live in the north hills by mc intyre square.
