View Full Version : Weird 721 Remote Problem

I currently use the original 721 platinum remote and another UHF in the other room to change 721 channels. The remote started complaining "batteries low". I swapped out the batteries and now the 721 will NOT recognize any commands. I once made the the mistake of using rechargables that did not make contact with the springs, but that's not the problem this time. I'm getting the "sat" button to light with each button press and I even tried the batteries out of the working remote.
Is there any chance that I have to reprogram the "sat" button to work with the 721? If so, what is the code?

The only thing I can think of are:
Have you ever changed the remote address? (ie something other than orginal)
Are you sure you are in sat mode?
Double check the way batteries are inserted.
Otherwise:
If you have warranty (or extended warranty) the remote is covered.

Nope, I never changed the address.. and I've changed the batteries without problems before. Athough the Sat button does light when I press buttons, I tried hitting the "TV" button and then back to "SAT". Still nothing. The batteries are in correctly. Thanks for your input.

Ok, another interesting fact.. I can turn my TV on and off with the remote via the TV power button right below the main power button. That means the remote is sending commands. I also tried pointing the remote directly at the 721 just in case the UHF stopped working (maybe IR still worked)... and nothing. It just seems like I have to reprogram the SAT button with the right code... only I don't know what it should be.
