BUG REPORT: Create Timer

When I go into the create timer via the program guide to record a future program the "start early/extend recording" feature does not seem to be working
properly. If I put in to start and extend 2 minutes on each side it only starts or extends it on one side of the program randomly. Sometimes on the front end, sometimes on the back end. Not until you put in at least 5 minutes on each side does the function work properly. I've tried this many times and made sure I didn't have any conflicting recordings on either side. The results were the same.
Obviously the way around this is to program manually, but that would be defeating the purpose of this feature. From my perspective, the most common use of this feature would be to add a minute or two on each side of the recording to ensure complete coverage.

You're using the pad time options on the first timer screen, correct? Not programming the timer from say 7:58 to 9:02? Setting the timer from 8:00 to 9:00 and then putting 2 in both pad time options?

Correct. I'll put say 2 & 2 on each side and select "create" to create timer. Then I completely cancell out of that screen and go back into the PVR screen,
to check the program I just created by highlighting, checking, selecting edit, selecting time. In this case it would say 7:58 to 9:00 or 8:00 to 9:02. The extra buffer time would indiscriminantly show up on one side or the other. This bug
continues to happen indiscriminantly in all different combinations until I put at least a 5 & 5 minute buffer and then press create, in which case I would get 7:55 to 9:05 as it should be.
