Does anyone notice that some of the channels on Dish seem to be out of focus or blurry? i wonder if it has to do with bandwith problems.

I've never had picture problems with Dish (other than the occasional storm blocking the signal). But I only have a 32 inch TV right now. What size is your TV? I've head SD looks a bit fuzzy on bigger screens, sometimes.

I have a 32" sony vega. its weird---it seems to be just certain channels that are fuzzy while all of the others are always clear. I always get a 95 signal on 119 and a 90 signal on 110.

Some movies on say TNT or TBS that are edited for television seem to be also altered in the video department. I would like to get my hands on that equipment and sink it in my river.

I wonder if it's happening when some channels will speed up their brodcasts a bit, to get more commercial time in without cutting the shows. This happens sometimes, and I know it messes up my closed captioning.

I recently got Dish for HDTV. I intended to drop cable, but A/B comparisons of some channels between Dish and my analog cable convinced me to keep cable. In particular, the national PBS feed was very soft. I droped that from my subscription immediatly.

Why? Even the PQ may not be good, PBS has good programs.

I get the west coast feed on cable. I got the national feed for the time shift and to see what was available during the times my "local" station shows local content.

The quality was VHS tape level. I don't watch VHS tapes either. I now subscribe to the minimum for HDTV on Dish. I expect to switch to cable HD when my year commitment is up. (But, I have been thinking I would get HD from my cable company any day now for 4 years. I finally subed to Dish in frustration - and the cheap entry fee)
