I’d like to see support for serial control (a common feature on high end AV equipment). The serial interface would be handled via low cost Serial to USB adapters which are already supported in the Linux.
Serial would be able to control standard remote control buttons, as well as discrete codes for HD/SD and Aspect Ratio Control. In addition, when implemented, I’d like to see codes that will return what timers are currently set, and a set of codes that allow a timer to be set externally. Nothing too fancy, if it’s accepted return true, if there’s a conflict return false.
