522 single mode ?

I just got a system installed today for the first time, including a 522-the main appeal of this unit is the ability to record one program and watch another at the same time. Apparently that feature is only available in single mode, but in the manual it says that it can only operate in dual mode, and that feature is only for "future use". Can anyone shed some light on this? When is it going to be available? Thanks for your help

Its scheduled for sometime in the future. Hopefully soon since its a needed feature.

I am curious what people are hearing as the date that most think this will happen. Picture in picture would be nice. Right now I am using the tip I got probably on here about using the RCA jacks to run them through an extra video input on your surround sound to bring up what you want to record, do it and then switch back to what you are watching with the switch of a switch. Nice unit and as I've went along for the last month it seems to have become very stable.
