About a year ago, I saw a diagram in a forum somewhere of how to wire cascadeable multi-switches (DP34's) whereby if the power was removed from the first DP34 in the chain of three, the other two DP34's would not shut down.

It had something to do with a wiring in a splitter with the third (extra dish) port on all three DP34's at the same time. But I can't find that diagram anymore anywhere.

DISH Tech Support and ATR was not real helpful since they are concerned with Residential rather than small MDU bulk wirings. The Commercial side of DISH does not even have a Tech Support dept for MDU wiring and could only refer me to the website where this particular thing is not covered.

If anyone can shed some light on how this could be done, I'd appreciate any guidance you can offer.

Just connct a coax from a powered up receiver to each switch in the cascade, that will provide power to the whole system.

For MDU design (I guess that's what you're talking about here) you can't guarantee power on the fisrt DP34. You insert power using a suitable amp (such as a PAL 10) and power passing splitters, in that situation you don't need to power the DP-34's from the receivers.
