Question about old 501

Just upgraded from dish to directv. I now have a 501 that I'm not using. I was wondering if there is anyay to still be able to use the recording feature by running the output of the directv receiver into the 501 and then running the 501 to the tv?

Nope - the 501 will only record Dish Network programming. Directv is different technology. If I were you, I'd sell the 501 and pick up a Directivo or 2. :)
