View Full Version : HD Events leaving wings.....
According to the EPG they are leaving 61.5 and 148 on 01/14/04.
...and moving to 110 (I assume) or leaving for good?
What about the cbs stations?

It has been at 110 for a while now.
What about the cbs stations?
There is no notice of any change.
HD Events from 61.5 and 148 have left the EPG.
Tp 4 at 61.5 has returned to QPSK modulation and the Traverse City locals are being readied there.

Perhaps February 11th (when Sho-HD and HBO-HD fly away) will be another day to look for "second dish" locals a week later. :)

John - What channel range are the Traverse City ones being readied to? ;)

Same as on 121 (7150). They are not in the system yet. Only on the TP.

So why are we moving all the hd off 61.5 and 148? Is it to allow the wing sats to be used for locals instead and international? If we do use the two wing sats for locals and 105 and 121 will this be enought to do the rest of the dmas left?
Inquiring minds want to know....

Mike, Only if they are able to consolidate the international channels to 121. Otherwise, they are still a little short.
See ya

Well, it seems like the moves are toward not having channels duplicated. There is not much space on 61.5. Most all of the Internationals are on 121. They are just not ready to do a mass move to SuperDISH 121. It seems all new Internationals are going on 121. 3 today. I am actually receiving the new Chinese Super Pak from 121. In most areas you have to already have SuperDISH or its equivalent in order to get them. Limited availability is the norm. The direction they seem to be going will certainly put a good sized dent in the rest of the locals. EchoStar 10 may help as well when it is up and working.

Another good reason for that FSS only dish that Charlie mentioned.
The big problem with moving internationals is supplying a new dish for every subscriber. Many international subscriber may not subscribe to any other E* service, and only have a Dish300 trained on 61.5 or 148. The new dish will allow international customers to continue without the expense of a full SuperDish. A good thing. It will also allow for SuperDish105 locals customers to get Internationals.
I believe the neighborhood will move to 121 by January 2005. It will take that long to get up to speed and get dishes ready.
