My new 510 that i got today did something weird. I was recording two shows concecutively and i was in the menu programming my favorites. when they switched a error screen came up and wouldn't record it and i couldn't change a channel at all. I had to reset the box and everything worked fine. Is this normal, will it happen once or alot and has it happened to anyone else?

since it is new today,
did you give it time to get the latest update before, recording?
also even though it "shouldn't" crash it,
I wouldn't be changing setup (like favorites) while recording
most likely just a one time glitch, I wouldn't worry yet.
I'm not 100% sure about this, but I thought if you gave commands to a PVR that caused any of the banners to pop up on the screen, these banners would be recorded over the top of your recording. Anyone confirm or rebut this?
Either way, you probably shouldn't be doing too much remote clicking while recording if you value what you are recording.

I dont know i heard about p200 but mine says p199. I was hitting alot of buttons for my favorites and it did just start so it was probably a fluke. I tried it again after it started recording and it didn't do that. So you cant access a menu when it is starting or stopping a recording.

It doesn't copy over the video with banners that is if you are VCR timing it.

The comands will show up if you hit them while transfering from pvr to vcr or tv to vcr. whatever banner comes up will show up on the tape. Wich is why I disable the coller id when transfering things to video tape. If your recording on the pvr the banners should not show up during playback on the pvr unit.
