hello all,
can any one tell me if it's too soon to consider E*'s new 522?

The 522 is an incredible Little box, I have had mine for 2 or 3 weeks and it works so well I forget it is new and already take it for granted. It already seems normal and does exactly what it is supposed to do without any fuss, couldn't be without one now that I have it.

For what it is worth, I also have a 322 (and feel the same about it), a 921 (new toy.. KILLER), an 811 (it's OK, but more buggy than the 921) and a rock solid pair of 301s.

What will it cost a current E* sub, with dish 500 and [1] 508 dvr ?
Is any adittional equipment required, and who does the install ?

They aren't techincally available yet to existing customers, only to new DHP customers. Ebay has 522s for 369 Buy-It-Now. The only other thing you might need is a different switch depending on what type of LNB(s) or switch you currently have.
