The writing team of Holland/Dozier/Holland was known for writting many (most) Motown hits of the 1960's. A few of their hits included:"Heat Wave," "Quicksand," and "Nowhere To Run", for Martha and the Vadellas, "Mickey's Monkey" for the Miracles, "Can I Get a Witness", "Your a Wonderful One", "How Sweet It Is (To Be Loved by You) for Marvin Gaye, For the Four Tops they contributed "Baby I Need Your Loving," "I Can't Help Myself," "It's the Same Old Song," "Reach Out I'll Be There," "Standing In the Shadows of Love," and "Bernadette." Their biggest success was with The Supremes whom they wrote ten Top 10 records. These included "Where Did Our Love Go," "Baby Love," "Come See About Me," "Stop! In the Name of Love," "I Hear a Symphony," "My World Is Empty Without You," "Love Is Like an Itching in My Heart," "You Can't Hurry Love," "You Keep Me Hangin' On," and "Love Is Here and Now You are Gone." H-D-H's "Reflections" and "In and Out of Love" were hits for Diana Ross and The Supremes. http://www.history-of-rock.com/hollanddozierholland.htm
There is a current popular music production team that is rapidly closing in on the second spot for producing #1 hits with a WIDE variety of artists. At last count they have racked up 14 #1's. The number 2 team produced a total of 16 #1's and the number one team has 23 #1's under their belt. The winner of the contest will be the one who can name all three production teams. To the winner goes the DVD "Standing in the Shadows of Motown", winner of the best non fiction film of the year by the National Society of Film Critics. Standing in the Shadows of Motown presents the history of the Funk Brothers, the band that played in the shadows of all the early Motown stars. The Funk Brothers played on more #1 records than The Beatles, The Beach Boys, The Rolling Stones, and Elvis combined. http://www.standingintheshadowsofmotown.com/ Winner will be announced between 9:30 and 9:45ET during the DBSTalk "Charlie Chat Talk". If multiple winners, a winner will be selected randomly during the Chat. Winner must be present in the Chat Talk to win. Entries will be accepted until the start of the Charlie Chat. In case of discrepencies, winner will be at the sole discretion of the DBStalk staff. Send your answer to rking401@starband.net. Do not post answers here :nono: :D
