I am a Direct TV subscriber and receive my locals from them as well (Boston). I have a HD compatible TV and was going to purchase a HDTV satellite receiver. If I subscribe to DirectTV's HD package, will I be able to receive the local broadcasts in HDTV?
My main goal it to get the remaining football games in HDTV on CBS.
Any advice on how to obtain them would be appreciated!
Thaks

If your local CBS station is broadcasting HDTV at full power (Boston should), and you have an antenna capable of receiving that frequency, then yes, as all D* HDTV receivers can tune in the free OTA (over the air) digital (which may be HDTV) broadcasts from your local stations.
Since it looks like WBZ-DT is on frequency UHF 30 ,then a Silver Sensor may be a good indoor antenna choice.

D* did announce that they'll have national CBS-HD feeds available via sat in time for the superbowl for those viewers within an exclusive CBS Owned and Operated CBS station. (Boston's is a CBS O&O but you might need a permission from the Providence station (very unlikely))
