Is there any way for me to know what sat Tucson locals are currently on? They were working with the round dish a few months ago...but I know they were scheduled to move and require the eliptical dish. Has this happened yet? When is it expected?
Thanks!

DirecTV's local coverage in Tucson is on the same satellite as it has always has. Those locals are uplinked to a national beam at the 101 degree west slot; they only require a round 18-inch dish for reception.
Those locals will move once the new spot-beam satellite, DirecTV 7S, is placed into service. It is first on the list of launches scheduled on the Sea Launch platform. However, the prior launch of the same type of satellite from the same manufacturer has had some problems opening the solar arrays.

Thanks Greg
FYI, I live on Oro Valley and when I called D* to ask about locals, they indicated they would be moving in 04 to the new Sat in 04 and I would need the elipital dish to get them. Then they offered to come out and install one for free. Just have to commit to subscribe for a year.
