Searching for Signal

Having some trouble all of a sudden with my HDVR2. Pops up on the screen with "no signal on satellite 2". If I go into the signal meter it looks like transponders are randomly disappearing on one or the other inputs.

Thought it was perhaps a sticky multiswitch (I've got a 18" dish with a 3x4 multiswitch). Still the same problem. So I put my RCA receiver in it's place and checked both connection. No problem there, diagnostic shows an 80+ signal on all the important transponders.

Any ideas on what's going on? Is the Tivo itself bad?

Problem solved. It was the cabling. I live in an apartment and bring the cables in through a window using flat coax. For the second time in a few months I had to replace it.

Guess the DirecTivo is more sensitive to signal issues than the RCA.
