Hughes HDTivo compatible with Dishnetwork?

I am using DishNetwork and a Sony TIVO. I have purchased a Samsung HDTV and want to upgrade to a HD receiver. I cannot give up the extra features TIVO offers over the Model 921 PVR. I am wondering if I can use a Hughes HDTivo with my dishnetwork? Or do I need to switch to DirectTV?

The HDTiVo will only record DirecTV signals and OTA ATSC signals.

Its made by hughes, who owns directv. Why dont you get directv?
