Next Friday 1/30/04 I "FINALLY" am getting the HD in a box installed. I already have a 6000 so I don't want the 811. I was told the 811 I am getting I do not have to activate. So I am selling this unit that does not need a committment attatched to it which is nice. Nor do you have to trade in a 6000.

Price is $299.99 including shipping. Basically I am offering this $100 less than it would cost to get it stand-alone. If you are interested please e-mail at phanatic88888@yahoo.com

PayPal only please. I am verified and it's basically the only service I feel comfortable with. Thank You.

Is the 811 that bad?

I have the 6000 and personally I would keep the 811 and sell the 6000. ehren. I would suggest that you try both before quickly selling your 811. You could activate your 811. If you don't like it deactivate it.

As for the 811 being that bad. Opinions differ. For me the 811 is a step up from the 6000 bugs and all. I am happy I did the 6000 swap.

ehren -- did you go through a local retailer or direct to Dish for the HDTV-in-a-box w/ 811 deal? If it was a retailer, did you have to go through your original retailer? Just curious.

On a side note, $300 is a great price for a new 811 for those interested! They are going for around $400 on a regular basis on EBay right now -- and have been for the past week or two at least.

Actually I called Dishnetwork 1-800-wow-hdtv # for the last time cause I have been going back and forth b/w AEI in Green Bay and Dishnetwork for almost a month!!!. Dish said AEI did not have the tv's in stock but had the 811's. I was to be signed up yesterday but AEI called me back the same day and cancelled my work order cause they never asked if I was a new customer. Seems AEI treats existing customers like crap and denied me the HD in a box promotion since I am an existing customer, AEI sales told me it was for new customers only which was a lie. So AEI said I need to get the work order thru Dish themselves and then AEI can then do the installation. So I called Dish and I asked to speak to a supervisor, so I explained my fustrations on how i'm getting jerked off. So he talked to the advanced installation department and she was really nice, called AEI and told them to get their **** together and she called me back today and got me an install date for 1/30. I told her could she please make a suggestion to have Dish retailers install the HD in a box even if I was not installed by a local retailer since I was installed by dishnetwork contractors who are now out of business. I live in a small town, I have a retailer 2 blocks away from me who could not do the install since he would not make any money since I was not installed as a new customer thru him. This promotion should be treated like a Superdish upgrade where if you find a retailer who has the shortest waiting list ( like I did for my fathers Superdish upgrade) you have the option to do this. They get the money for installing it and boom everyones happy! Dishnetwork made this harder than it's rocket science policy needed to be.

SO anyways I am NOT selling my 6000. I sold my 8vsb cause I live in an area that I need a huge antenna and I don't want that on my house so I basically got a 6000 for less than $75. So I hope someone takes up on my offer. I am selling it for less without a committment. I would love to make someone happy who really wants it. This is a great deal if you don't want programming and just want the HD pak you'd be wasting $300 on top 50 for a year just to get the $149-$199 deal thru Dish. That's the way I see it. Thanks for listening :)
