View Full Version : Directv Multidish Setup
Ok I have a HDVR2 3 Hughes Director pack receivers. 1 Rca DRD420RE. Both tuners are active on the tivo. Now I am using a 3x8 Multiswitch with one dual lnb 18 inch dish. the switch has two sat inputs and 1 off air antenna input. I want to add a second dish pointed at 119 because I want to get HDTV one day. So what setup do I need to receiver 101 plus 119 on all of my equipment. Appreciate the help!

For HD you will need to also see the satellite at 110. So this means the Phase III oval triple LNB dish which has a four output multiswitch built-in. Call DirecTV and tell them you are planning for HDTV and also want the NASA channel. They will sell you the PH III dish for $49 + s/h. Then you'll need a cascadable 4x8 or 5x8 multiswitch to add to the dish's four outputs. If you still want to just add another single dish for 119, you will still need the 4 or 5 x8 multiswitch. The 101 lines feed two inputs and the 119 lines feed the other two. But, you won't get the 110 sat.
Hey thanx. I'll call DTV. Maybe they will install the dish for free too and give me the switch I need. That would be nice! Thanks for your help!
