Its finally time. The Johnstown/Altoona locals are up (officially as of the 29th), but if you go to the website you can order them now. Picture quality is mainly very good. TV10 and Channel 6 are much better than I had with cable. Fox is a little fuzzy and ABC-23 has a lot of ghosting (must be coming in via OTA antenna). Hope they get that fixed. PBS is termporarily off the air due to technical difficulties on Dish's end, but should be up soon. If you've been waiting ENJOY!!!
I just had the Johnstown / Altoona locals turned on today. In general, they look pretty good on my 27" TV, with the exception that WJAC (NBC) looks very washed out in comparison to the other channels.
Anyone else out there also notice the washed-out NBC? And does anyone know if Dish is still using antennas to get these channels, or if at least some of these have been converted to a fiber link?
(Edit - on closer inspection last night I noticed the worst picture quality on WWCP (FOX) - some interference and slight ghosting from time to time. WJAC (NBC) is washed out compared to the other channels. The other stations (ABC, CBS, PBS) look pretty good. I may zip a note to DishQuality@Echostar.com asking about the FOX and NBC signals.)
