ENGLEWOOD, Colo.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 29, 2004--EchoStar Communications Corporation (NASDAQ: DISH) announced today that its DISH Network(TM) will offer local TV channels by satellite television to Johnstown-Altoona, Pa. The following local TV channels are offered: ABC Ch. 23 (WATM), CBS Ch. 10 (WTAJ), NBC Ch. 6 (WJAC), PBS Ch. 3 (WPSX) and FOX Ch. 8 (WWCP).
This is the first time local TV channels are available by satellite TV in the Johnstown-Altoona area at $5.99 per month, providing an alternative to local cable TV service. DISH Network also provides digital video recording technologies and high-definition TV channels to Johnstown-Altoona.

DISH Network offers local channels via satellite to Johnstown-Altoona customers in 10 Pennsylvania counties including: Bedford, Blair, Cambria, Cameron, Centre, Clearfield, Elk, Huntingdon, Jefferson and Summerset.
With the addition of Johnstown-Altoona, DISH Network offers local channels in a total of 103 cities and their metro areas in 47 states nationwide, plus the District of Columbia.
DISH Network will begin offering local channels as part of its new Digital Home Advantage effective Feb. 1. This promotion allows customers free installation for up to four TVs, with no commitment and no hardware to buy, starting for as little as $29.99 per month. This includes more than 60 popular TV channels such as ESPN, Discovery, CNN and the Food Network, as well as local Johnstown-Altoona TV channels. DISH Network guarantees the lowest all digital TV price through January 2005.
