I'd call Dish and demand to speak with someone about this (higher up). If the person wants to use the card, they oughta be able to. Basically, this guy does not want to take it because he probably earns less of a commission from it than whatever he ended up signing her up for. You may also want to call the guy and let him know that you are going to report him to Dish. Its their promo and they want you to use it. Don't take this lying down. This guy is trying to keep you from getting your $5.00 monthly credit!

I'm betting he refused to use it because it may not have been set up under the club dish promo. This would require different forms for him to have filed. In a nutshell he showed up to do a free now deal and didn't have it set up for club dish. So instead of returning to his store and resubmitting under the correct claim..(which I would have done)....he gave some lame excuse of refusing the card.

Right she didn't let them know before he showed
she also forgot to tell him she wanted a 510 he went back and got that

My understanding is that she MUST call the Club Dish 888-920-GIFT number to schedule the install -- or she MUST give the RETDFD promo code to the retailer before the install. If she didn't do that, then I feel bad for what happened, but really don't think it is Dish's or the installer's fault. She made a mistake, apparently, and did not use the card properly. :(

That all being said, if you wanted to push it, you could email ceo@dishnetwork.com and try to explain what happened. They do appear to have the power to give a Club Dish credit to someone even if the card was used improperly. I had a situation where the "improper usage" was mainly caused by a misinformed CSR, so I went the email route and was informed that they would make sure I still got the credit for it. Your luck may vary... :)

You are right, she probably didn't let the installer know until he got there, but it is just good business to accomidate the customer. I have gone back to my store several times and changed the paperwork after the suprise gift card appeared when I got to their house. Don't punish the customer for something she probably didn't know she had to tell him before he came to her house. Some of these installers out there need to be a little more human and not some puppet on a string.

Dumb ### Blondie
she brought bill in to work was her Doctor bill HEY same color( DAB )
I called dish too late can't be changed
She paid $50.00 install on credit card before install should of known
right then hey I have a club dish card
2.00 on day of install (pipe?) house never had cable locals from rabbet ears
she said he spend a long time getting it right and did a good job
I told her not to install on roof snow removal etc.
but to do so meant a long cable run wrong side of house
power enters other side I already told her before install
I'd make sure it was grounded right
and drive a ground rod if needed and tie to main ground
now she wants me to hook up phone line and S video and bury
cable this spring
guess I should of showed up on install day
