why such the long delay for. duluth. I got dish in Dec., and they were saying by the first of the year. Getting very frustrated. I had all the networks(grandfathered) with direct tv, but was ready for a switch. I thought the loss would only be for a couple of weeks. I guess I learned my lesson. Robert

I didn't think the questions were announced in advance. Interesting. Who has them?

When do we get more HD that is in the HD Package and not a "Premium" package?

And, DISH, when are you going to reduce the number of channels/transponder on my Portland locals? They look like crap! :nono2:

Ahh! The old programming questions in the Technical Forum thingy.

What's up with Tp 28 at 61.5? It is not making any signal.

A few things I'd like to see, and one I'd rather not:

Demonstrate the new receivers, especially the 921
Discuss 921 software issues, recent fixes, and plans for adding missing features
Plans for the 921's internal expansion slots, drive bay?
Show how DishPro Plus works and announce availability of the DPP switches
Explaining DPP is a good opportunity to explain DishPro which hasn't really been done yet
Will the HD in a box TVs really only display HD content from a Dish receiver or can they also be used with other sources like an OTA tuner and D-VHS?
Can any HD channels be added this year?
Plans for SuperDISH? How did the AMC-2 footprint problem go undetected? Will HD move to 105° after AMC-15 is up? (BTW, is it "SuperDISH" as shown on the slides or "SUPERdish" as shown on the dish?)
Plans for side slots? Will all HD be removed? Is international programming still going to 121?
Plans for 157°? Will it help AK and HI?
What accommodation is being made for users of the 5000 with HD modulator who will no longer be able to see channels they are paying for?
Are we heading towards a future receiver swap? The new non-HDTV models have 8PSK tuning which is currently only needed for HDTV channels.
No discussion of Dish Interactive ("technical questions only, please") unless it's new or new to a receiver that still doesn't have it.

Big Question: SHOW US A WORKING 921 that has real Local Guide Data like the HD Tivo Demo at CES.

What good is a DVR that can record OTA HD if there is not matching guide data.

Please demo what you got working so far so we can all make an informed decision. $1000 IS A lot of money. We have a right to know if or how it works.

I would buy a 921 right now (pre-order it).

IF and only IF I knew the thing really worked and was not Vapor ware.

How about a Demo on the Tech Chat?

I want to see a timed recording with Guide Data of an over the air HD channel with an average to high signal strength.

Last Night I saw a Promo for the Tech Chat. It said that their guest would be from Dolby Labs.

Is it true that on the Direct TV HD Tivo when you go to the guide and pick a show to record you get the option.

It will show both shows, one via DIsh Locals in SD and one OTA in HD.

How does the 921 handle recording options like this?

Can it?

How about a demo on the Tech Chat?

Perhaps they should make the chats in Dolby Digital and have a HD feed of it as well.

Please adress International subscribers ( indian subscriber) who also gets the hd package, and how future changes to satellite locations for both these forms of programming mights effect me. Also my guide is a piece of crap. It only register 3 hours at the most and is forever checking the satellite for updated guide data

Was advised first that the DP44 switch would be available in spring 2004. Then the news spread that it was going to be as early as Feb. 1, 2004. Does dish have any idea when the release is scheduled for?

I predict that none of the 'hard' questions will be answered and it's going to be nothing but 'fluff'. There will be no new information, just a rehash of what people already know from looking at DBS sites.

I think they need to approach the issue of DD compatibilty problems surrounding the 811. I have seen numerous questions from various forum sites with customers only recourse being purchase of new audio receivers. Obviuosly, the data streams are different.

Echostar needs to come up with a "better" solution for the customer. Could problem be fixed by software or hardware? Is there a Black box on the market that would fix?

Not tonight. When they were setting up the guests for tonight, I was sick in bed with the flu and didn't get back to them in time. Hopefully it'll work out for next time, though.
