Just found this forum a couple of weeks ago and have already gotten some great info. Thanks to everyone who regularly contributes.
I've got a 921 arriving tomorrow and I need some advice on what additional stuff I need.
Currently I have the following:
Model PVR501
Model 6000
Dish500 with legacy twin lnb (119/110)
Dish300 with legacy dual lnb (61.5)
2 SW21 switches
I've removed the 6000 and am replacing it with the 921 but obviously I have to have 1 more input. I'm keeping the 501.
I'm assuming that simply replacing the legacy twin lnb with a legacy quad lnb would probably be the safest/simplest way to do it.
Questions:
I read elsewhere that 2 SW21's cannot be connected to the same IRD. Does this also apply to 2-tuner IRD's like the 921? I was thinking of running a straight line from a legacy quad output to the 501, then using my 2 SW21's to combine the dish500 and dish300 signals to the 2 inputs on the 921. Will this work?
If I chose to swap out the legacy stuff for dishpro stuff, what would be the best/cheapest way to do it? If I went this route, I'd want to be set up for one of the DP:44 switches when they are available so that, eventually when I swap the 501 with another 2-tuner IRD, I won't have to run another cable. Would the minimum requirement be a DP twin lnb on the dish500, a DP single lnb on the dish300, and a DP34 switch?
Anyone know of a good Dish retailer that sells this stuff in the north Dallas area? I'd like to get the stuff tomorrow so I can finish setting it up this weekend.
Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks!
