View Full Version : Missed the HD superbowl
Thanks to Dish for not getting me a 811 by Superbowl sunday. I tried to order one about the begining of December and I called them a couple of days ago and they are STILL 4 to 6 weeks out (same thing I was told then). I cant believe that there are none out there. It seems like every dealer in the US can get them but for all us loyal customers we are screwed. Ill probably miss the Datona 500 also. Anyone having better luck than me? I sure hope I get it before Direct tv comes out with a deal or I am gone.....

what about ebay?? or are u interested in a deal only DishNetwork can provide?? I feel for ya but to tell the truth, I would pay the extra $150 bucks rather than have my HDTV sit there doing SD all day. You are literally 3-4 days away from glorious HD pictures and HD locals plus no commitment.

Even the people with 811s in Atlanta missed alot of the game in HD. WGCL the CBS affiliate had problems so most of the game was SD. Atlanta people were pretty mad looking at the Atlanta DTV site. Many had purchased all that equipment and no HD game (or Janet's C-cup).

I was watching halftime, hoping they would play a commercial soon. I saw the porno dancers (and, yeah - if I'd ever seen porno I would know that the SB wouldn't measure up) and the scene in question but didn't notice! I found out a few hours later on CNNi when they showed a freezeframe blurred out.
I was wondering who was showing "too much skin" at the end of halftime ... turns out to have been Mark Roberts, serial streaker. Hey, at least the game was OK.
They say that Janet was the #1 Tivo event measured - didn't know they kept an interactive log. Although this is one time that E* had an exclusive ... HD DVR from a local CBS or CBS-HD. Maybe they will show the clip on Tech Forum. See, this is how you use the back and pause buttons ... :eek2:

You should have called a Dish-authorized retailer in your area. I called one near me on Tuesday, and had my 811/311 system installed on Friday. (My new Sony HDTV arrived on Thursday.)
Of course, the free 811 promo expired on 1/31, so now it's all moot.

Unfortunatly I am a loyal existing cutomer so we are put to the bottom of the list. I put in for my 811 early December when they told me it was 4 to 6 weeks out. As of 2 days ago they are still 4 to 6 weeks out. I have called so many times and talked to supervisers and I still am 4 to 6 weks out. If direct tv comes out first with a HD offer I will have some Dish crap for sale...

I think it depends on local availability of the units. Im an existing customer, and I got an 811 two weeks after my first call.
