This is a reminder to make sure all connections to your valuable electronics are protected by working surge suppression devices. This includes not only power connections, but DBS, cable and antenna inputs, and telephone lines as well.
I have cable as a back-up to DBS. Recently, I noticed some of the cable channels had very poor PQ and I called in to report it. The cable guy came out and found that the incoming signal was ok, but that my surge suppressor had taken a hit, possibly saving my recently purchased widescreen set from damage.
