The 501 is only $199 w/ 1 year commitment to AT150 and CC auto pay. There are other options then D*, did you ever consider grey market subscriptions to either BEV or *C? If the merger goes through and the new DirecTV by Echostar is crap, I might very well go with BEV.

A bit off from the orginal topic, but I was looking over your channel lineup and I dont recongnize any of the audio channels. What service does your cable op. use? Is it DMX? BTW- you can get BEV through an adress broker, there a very popular one thats mentioned on DBSForums alot but when I did a search I couldnt find the name or website.

I hear dish is moving around channels again. I had to do an option 7225000 for my MoM yesterday. She was geting the no info. I would keep on bugging them. everyday if you have to. Eventualy they will offer you a free 501. or as I have said before sell it on e-bay for $150 or better. Then the 501 will only cost you $50 bucks or so. Thats what I did. and I am happy I did :)
