I have an appointment to have Dish add an 811 receiver to my existing Dish500 system that has 1 model 2700 connected to it. What changes are they going to have to make with the lnb set up or switches? Just curious as what to expect when I finally get them to my house. I currently have 2 single legacy lnb's.
Well, maybe you know the answer by now.
It will depend on whether you keep the 2700 and where you put it if you do.
The 811 can be connected to the same cable the 2700 uses now. If you want to keep using the 2700 another cable will have to be run to the dish. If you have a TWIN it will be a "home run" to the 2nd port. If you have 2 dual LNBFs w/a SW21 switch they will have to put in another SW21.

[QUOTE=HTguy]Well, maybe you know the answer by now.
You are correct sir. I did keep the 2700 & had it installed in another room. It went down just as you said, 1 extra line & another sw21. It was alot simpler that I thought it was going to be and the techs were at my house for about half an hour total. The 811 downloaded while they ran cable for the new receiver location and BOOM! Hi def TV.
