My RSN (Comcast DC) was scheduled to air the Georgia Tech basketball game at 9:00 pm in the DC and Baltimore DMAs, and boxing elsewhere (schedule (http://midatlantic.comcastsportsnet.com/schedule/tv-listings2.asp?date=&listdate=2/10/2004)). My D* guide had boxing listed on CSN (channel 629) and the GT game on RSNa (channel 633 for 6 hours). I figured this seemed sane and left it to record from my wishlist. When I woke up just now to watch it, it was still taping (3.5 hours), so I stopped it and began to watch. Unfortunately, the only thing I saw was the D* logo with a little background music which lasted for about 5 minutes, then asked me if I wanted to delete. My question: is it likely that the game actually showed on CSN and I just need to get it with a manual timer next time? Under what circumstances are the RSNa's actually used, and is there any way to tell for sure without actually watching it live? Thanks.

I can't give you a complete answer but I can at least share my experience. My RSN is FoxSports South and the main thing I watch on that channel are Predators hockey games. I can't think of a game that has actually appeared on the RSN rather than the RSNA.

From what I've been able to gather, the RSN always carries the main national FoxSports program and any special program geared to a local RSN goes to the RSNA. So unless your local game is also the national FoxSports game, it probably won't appear on the RSN.

I wondered if it might be something along those lines. Now I just have to figure out why there was nothing on the channel when the guide claimed there would be...
