Specifically, QPSK, 8PSK or what?

QPSK on most, but the HDTV stuff is 8PSK (or is migrating that direction).

If you want the tech specs check out www.lyngsat.com and you can see the modulation QPSK/8PSK the symbol rates (currently 20 million on QPSK and 21.5m on 8PSK), forward error correction rate (FEC 5/6 on most standard def, 2/3 on HDTV), etc.
