View Full Version : VOOM program guide lists local(s)
VOOM lists local Jacksonville (FL) digitals as available.
Jacksonville digital channels 12.1 and 12.2 are now listed in Voom's detail program guide for my zip code 31520. Channel 12 is the Jacksonville affiliate of both ABC and NBC, and has long been broadcasting both ABC and NBC on analog channels 10 and 12. It would be great if VOOM picked up the CBS affiliate.
What wasn't clear from the guide info is whether the two Jax locals are in HD or SD.

Nick, let me know where you bought that light, I know a few gals that could use one.
Anyone know how aggressively (or not) Voom is going after locals? I hope they've taken a page from Charlie's play book.
Go to the www.voom.com site and check your zipcode for locals.

VOOM has always provided an OTA setup to get your local digital channels. They do not send any over the satellite.
With due respect, Mike, I don't mean OTA. Reread my original post. Vom wouldn't list locals on their website's publicly accessible program guide, complete with assigned Voom channel numbers, if they weren't picking them up for retransmission.
My primary interest is how fast Voom will be signing local retans agreements.
Voom only does locals OTA. They add them to the program guide based on zip code. This is a great improvement over Dish...their PG listed the OTA channels but not the programs.

VOOM does have local guide data for the local digital channels. They are recieved over the air though. You can put in any zip code for any DMA and it will build a guide first showing the local OTA digital stations then show the VOOM stations.
If VOOM were to start doing LIL like Dish/DIRECTV they would have to find some satellite space. You notice they give the digital broadcast info... they would have to have more space than D*/E* to do that much.
