I suppose all good things must come to an end. Better to end on a good note rather than drag on until it becomes hackneyed like so many other series. I do miss Buffy, and will miss Angel.

It is ironic, I watched the first season of Angel, part of the second then stopped, I started again this season and watched the whole season so far. Just as they finally got me hooked again, they are cancelling.

WB cancels a lot of their shows after a short period of time. A lot of those shows I like but then the new ones they add I like them too. If they would have kept a lot of those shows they would have had a lot of content. I guess they would rather recycle shows until they find the ones that big hits, that they have a different way of doing it.
I heard Reba may get cancelled too but do not know if it is or not and it is one of the most successful shows on WB right now.

They seem to have the attention span and patience of the age group they are pandering to : kids. I watch like maybe three shows on the WB so it wouldn't surprise me if they cancel Angel. I will watch Dark Shadows though. Watched it when it first ran when I was about 6 and have watched it in reruns and when it ran as a new series in the early 90s.

Doesn't Joss Whedon have some kind of deal where UPN gets the option to pick them up? If they grabbed Buffy, it would be a nobrainer to grab Angel. 4 Million viewers may be small for the WB but it would be an improvement for UPN.

I don't know, but I believe the option to pick up up Angel was part of the Buffy contract.

The only real reason I started watching Angel again was because of Smallville. I like Smallville, I wonder if that dooms it to cancellation now too.

You can't keep Clark in High School forever. Eventually he will have to go to Metropolis and become the reporter and then you have Superman in costume. No more Smallville. Smallville was always a small part of the overall story. In comics you can keep people forever young but in real life there is aging. So I don't see the Smallville/ Dawson's creek teen soap opera going on much longer.

First Buffy leaves and now Angel. IMHO there is so much left of both stories that can be told. And we probably will never hear anything about "Ripper" the show that was to come out about Giles, every again. I've watched Buffy ever since episode one. It was a great show! I then got into Angel, but stopped watching after Season 2. Although good.. it paled in comparison to Buffy. Once Buffy ended though I started watching Angel again and it has gotten a lot better. And now they want to end it?! I hate it!

I miss Buffy. Angel has been OK, but it's nowhere near as satisfying, somehow. Just as I think "Voyager" and "Enterprise" have never filled the void left by "The Next Generation" in the StarTrek genre.

Yeah, but Angel STILL has many GREAT episodes (The one where Angel gets turned into a puppet had more laugh out loud moments than all of last season.) The 100th episode where Cordelia came back for a brief visit was a classic....

Yes, those were great ones. Don't get me wrong, I like "Angel" and don't want to see it leave.
