2a-on switch is fried(110 odds)cable fried as well..disconnected 148 from 3a-b ,put new connector on 110 cable.hooked back up to port3a-b... ? does a sw64 need all ports to connected to complete circuit..or will it just bypass 2a-b? ck. switch shows my setup, but 110 odds and sometimes even pixel out losing signal. this is 2- sw64, same fried status on 110 at port 2a-b equipment dvr510,dp7100..dish 500 legacy single lnb's..i know the 510 is backward compatible with legacy lnb's..-- any thoughts ?

What are you asking ? - Yes you need a replacement SW64... maybe some new cable . How's your power inserter ?

Plain simple, sw-64's are junk.

i'm asking if the sw64 will function with only 2 ports being used? or is it like closed loop circuits...like the brains in cars...wheras the gas cap is loose therby leading to a degradation of performance..does that make sense?

did your setup work before? if so FIND the cause of "fried" problem (shorted?)

(also you need two(odd/even) inputs for each satellite (takes 3 sets of duals) or 6 singles) or (combo of ie 2 duals and 2 singles) for 3 satellites)

get the extended warranty(must be "in force" for at least 30 days)
it covers all E* branded equipment on your account

UPDATE see post after mine

sorry it is not called extended warranty as of feb 1 ,
(I knew it was not available $1.99 anymore, but forgot about name change)

If all you are running is two receivers replace the SW-64 with a Legacy Twin and 2 SW-21s in a cascade. About the same cost and much more reliable. Retired Tech as of Feb. 1 st the $1.99 extended warranty is no longer offered it has been replaced by the DHPP at $5.99.
