I added the sports pack last night via the website. My daughters wanted to see the NLL all star game from the Pepsi Center here in Denver today. They are very big Mammoth fans. To my surprise Fox Sports Rocky Mountain did not carry the game live. Empire Sports, Fox Sports West-2 and Fox Sports Florida did. The process is very easy and by the time I could pick up the remote the channels were added. I understand you can drop programming also on the web and don't have to pay a downgrade fee.

This is another example of why I as glad I made the switch from Dish. Not having the downgrade fee IMHO is a huge advantage for DirecTV. :)

I am going to keep the package on for a while even though I could drop it tonight for a total cost of 80 cents.

I did notice picture quality was not great on these channels. Fox Sports Florida seemed to have the best picture quality but sound levels were up and down. It really looks like these channels are bandwidth challenged.

ESPN Full Court is currently $69 for rest of NCAA season. Could I subscribe & then unsubscribe later & only pay a pro-rated fee based on the time I was subscribed?

Thanks in advance for for response.

Straight from D*'s website:

Sports subscriptions cannot be canceled, transferred, refunded, or credited (in part or in whole) after the season starts. To receive sports programming, a DIRECTV subscription is required and all DIRECTV Receivers must be continuously connected to the same land-based phone line. Sports subscriptions automatically continue each year at a special renewal rate, provided DIRECTV carries these services, unless subscriber calls to cancel prior to the start of the season.

Plus dfudd there is only a week or so left of NCAA basketball. Why pay $69 for a week? March Maddness is a separate package.

I thought there was some exception for DirecTV's NFL Sunday Ticket where you didn't need a active subscription to DirecTV service.

And, somebody, remind me to cancel NFL Sunday Ticket 2004.
