There are some city-specific "user-group" type HDTV sites for a number of cities/DMAs around the country. Many of these are probably relatively unknown even in their own area. I am familiar with just a few, but I'm willing to wager there are more out there.

Such sites may provide helpful information on HD OTA reception specific to your local area, digital broadcast updates and opportunities to ask questions and discuss issues.

I've started this thread with the intent of "collecting" the URLs for these city sites in a central location, namely this thread. If you know of an HDTV user website for your city or area, please post the URL in this thread. If you want to see if an HDTV site exists for your area, try guessing a URL such as citynamehdtv.com or hdtvcityname.org. Of course, you can always google your city name + HDTV. Also, there are some Yahoo groups talking about local HD.

If we get a representative number of listings, I will suggest to Chris that we add a new "Local HDTV" link to the "Information Links" section on the main page.

www.tampahdtv.com (active and current)
www.hdtvsandiego.com (excellent site)
www.chicagohdtv.com - (this one's a strange redirect to the San Diego site above)
www.atlantadtv.org (info not current)

* Listing of a site does not constitute an endorsement or recommendation of that site. *
